best chocolate chip cookie recipe (ever)

I think I finally cracked the code for the best chocolate chip cookie recipe ever
I don’t know about you
but the way I google for recipes is
‘best (insert food here) recipe ever/in the world’
and I look at the reviews and just test them out

so I’m kinda like a chocolate chip cookie connoisseur (can’t even spell that right ha.)
I like my cookies crispy on the outside and ooey gooey on the insides
and for my choc chips to be a little bit bitter to balance out the sweet dough
hugging my choc chips (wait, what?)

I’ve made a lot of chocolate chip cookies in the past
and they’ve always ended up being all like a cross between brownies and cookies
which is equally as nice, but not what I wanted
and the other day I had a craving for cookies so I googled
and found this recipe
made ’em today and I think this is a recipe defo worth having to give to my grandkids (lol)

at this point
I’ve eaten probably 5 so far
(and the day just started ruh roh)
got this recipe from here

Ingredients:
125 g of unsalted butter
1 cup of brown sugar
1/4 cup of white sugar
1 egg
1 tsp of vanilla essence
1 cup of self-raising flour
3/4 cup of all-purpose flour
1 tsp of baking powder
1 cup (OR MORE) of dark chocolate chips

1. Melt the butter in the microwave for 30 s to 1 min. Don’t do what I did and let it whiz in the microwave for 2 mins. butter, everywhere (minus 5 domestic goddess points) – let it cool-ish
2. So as per usual, I didn’t have enough ingredients, and today’s shortage was of brown sugar. To solve this problem, I just topped up the rest with white sugar  – it ended up being the other way around. Mix the sugar into the melted butter and whisk till the sugar is kinda dissolved
3. The recipe said to lightly beat the egg. And here I am thinking, “lightly? how light is lightly” but I just kinda whisked it as you would to make scrambled eggs before the bubble – stage (if you know what I mean)
4. Chuck the whisked egg and vanilla essence into the bowl and whisk away
5. Then I sifted the flour and baking powder together into another bowl and added the flour mixture in parts into the wet ingredients (am still using the whisk at this stage)
6. Then make it rain with chocolate chips – I added some chopped dark choc bits into it too (because of the chocolate chip shortage I have in my pantry lol)
7. I used a tablespoon to ration it into balls and I kinda halved the ball and smoosh it together with the rough sides on top
8. Pop that in the oven for 10-12 mins. I think 11 min would be the sweet spot for getting them crispy chewy cookies.
9. After letting them cool – devour cookies (preferably with milk)
